The Balkans quick news

NIKOLA TESLA WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST AND MOST GIFTED MEN EVER TO HAVE WALKED THIS EARTH.THE GREAT INVENTOR NIKOLA TESLA, WAS A MAN WHOSE GENIUS WAS FAR BEYOND THE GREAT MINDS OF HIS DAY. HE HAD AN INTELLECT THAT AT TIMES SEEMED ALMOST UNEARTHLY. I SUPPOSE THIS IS WHY SOME HAVE SPECULATED THAT SUCH A REMARKABLE INDIVIDUAL COULD NOT HAVE SPRUNG FROM THE BOSOM OF MOTHER EARTH, BUT INSTEAD WAS THE PRODUCT OF EXTRATERRESTRIAL INTERVENTION.IF SOMEONE CAN NAME ANOTHER MAN TO COMPARE WITH THIS GREAT GENTLEMAN, PLEASE TELL US........         1]http://www.scb.travel/index.php?option=com_content&.....2]http://www.kosovo.net/serbs.html...3]http://www.serbiaconsulatenyc.com/en/greatscientists.html......4]http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/ten......  http://tripscout.net/wp-content/gallery/gracanica-monastery/gracanica-monastery-4.jpgFOTO:Serbian-Orthodox Monastery Gračanica (UNESCO WH) near Priština, Serbia...It was founded by the Serbian king Stefan Milutin in 1321..... .....Throughout history, the Balkans have been a crossroads, a zone of endless military, cultural, and economic mixing and clashing between Europe and Asia, Christianity and Islam, Catholicism and Orthodoxy. Led by the Nemanjic dynasty, medieval Serbia reached its military, economic and legal climax. The Kingdom of Serbia was proclaimed in 1217.Serbia of the Nemanjic dynasty was without doubt a land of economic and cultural progress that surpassed the existing European average. Apart from the well-known monasteries and their impressive frescoes, there are smaller but masterly art objects from that era: golden cups and chalices, candlesticks and silver plates, jeweled reliquaries, delicate embroideries, book bindings, and artistic illuminations - produced by talented people in a society which gave them an opportunity to express themselves. As for the Serbian rulers, unlike those in the West, they did not build enduring castles, but each one of them felt duty-bound to build at least one monastery.Monastics, courtiers, and a maze of Slavic-speaking subjects of Venice, Byzantium, Hungary, and Bulgaria swarmed around Serbian literary centers. Knowing the Serbian language was an asset in other than literary activities. Venice and Byzantium, and later the Turks, quickly discovered that interstate and other correspondence was likely to be more efficient if carried out in Serbian....http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel

Perast is a small Baroque town in the middle of the Bay of Kotor. In the 16th, 17th & 18th century the town reached the peak in the development of its maritime, economic and cultural forces. In those days captains and sailors from Perast where sailing on almost every sea and under a lot of flags, but mostly under the Venetian one. The town itself, along with the two islands in front of it St. George's with the Benedictine monastery from the 9th century and Our Lady of the Rock, bear witnesses to the long gone glory of Perast. Kotor stad
Bay of Kotor, also known as Boka Kotorska, is the largest Adriatic bay between Montenegro and Croatia. The Bay of Kotor is sometimes called Europe's southernmost fjord, but it is not exactly correct: according to the latest studies the bay is, in fact, an inlet formed by a partial submergence of a river valley.Painters, poets, scientists, tourists, they all experienced the Boka Kotorska in a different way. Everybody finds motive or inspiration for oneself, experiences it as something special, unusual, prodigious. And the Boka Kotorska is, which was confirmed by signing the Kotor-Risan bay on the list of World's natural and cultural heritage of Unesco, and accepting the Bay in the Club of the most beautiful world bays......

Water beer (Paramacrobiotus craterlaki). Gekleurde scanning electronen microscoop (SEM).This little guy is a Tardigrade, or a water bear. In 2008, water bears were the first animals demonstrated to be able to survive the vacuum of space. They are virtually indestructible and can survive being blasted with radiation, intense pressures and years of desiccation.
Specimens were launched into space by Swedish scientists and they returned unharmed after eight days.Tardigrades are able to survive in extreme environments that would kill almost any other animal. Some can survive temperatures of close to absolute zero, or 0 Kelvin (-273 °C (-459 °F)), temperatures as high as 151 °C (304 °F), 1,000 times more radiation than other animals, and almost a decade without water...In fact, they can be completely dried out for years - and then spring back to life as if nothing had happened.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26613502/  .................. For some people, universe is nothing but white dots sprinkled across the night sky. For others, stars and galaxies are all they can think of. Universe is a weird and strange place which is full of puzzling and mysterious elements. Here are strangest and unexplainable occurrences of the space…..Life is the result of energy and matter in the universe. However, only a few places have basic ingredients and conditions necessary for living. Until now, the recipe of living from the basic elements such as carbon, oxygen, phosphorus and carbon etc is still a scientific and prevailing mystery....
